BI doesn't have infinite resources, and they could probably do slightly better. Far Cry 3 is a gorgeous and fast game, but it simply doesn't have the scope that a full-fledged milsim like Arma has.Ĭould Real Virtuality be optomized a little bit more? Sure. Optimization would imply removing features, which is exactly what Far Cry 3 has done.

Essentially it's just a bunch of small maps stuck together (possibly with some form of cheap glue?)Īrma syncs a gamestate with up to 64 players in real time with a near-infinite view distance, not to mention the level of detail in Arma which far exceeds Far Cry 3 (weapon attachments, smarter AI, character customization, wider range of vehicles, etc.) That all makes it "small" from a development perspective.
